As of version 20.04, Atrex supports the following POS-X hardware:

Scanner:

ION (USB* or Printer Interface)
ION Slide (USB* or Printer Interface)
EVO Pro (USB* or Printer Interface)

*The USB interface works with Windows 10 directly, but requires some additional steps to get working properly under Windows 11.

Receipt Printer:

EVO Green
EVO High Speed

Pole Display:

XP8200 in Ultimate Mode (USB)

POS-X ION Cash Drawer Driver - Windows 11

Recent security updates to Windows 11 prevent the ION cash drawer driver from directly accessing the chipset information for the virtual serial adapter. This is indicated by the description for the virtual com port in Windows Device Manager to show the following message for the device: "PL2303TA DO NOT SUPPORT WINDOWS 11 OR LATER, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPPLIER."

Fortunately, the installed driver also includes an older version of the driver that CAN be used with Windows 11. Start Windows device manager by clicking on the Windows start menu, and typing in "Device Manager". Click on the Device manager app when it is displayed, navigate to the Ports entry and expand it. Follow the instructions in the images below to enable the driver in Windows 11:

Cash Drawer Won't Open

Verify that the "Enabled" option is checked via the "Options - Customization/Setup - Cash Drawer Setup" function. If the option is enabled, click on the "Test" button to test the settings. If the drawer does not open, the settings are incorrect.

If you know the open sequence required to open the cash drawer, enter it in the "Values to Send" field.

If you do not know the open sequence for your cash drawer, you can try the following combinations.

1. Values to Send: 0 Repeat Count: 1

2. Values to Send: 0 Repeat Count: 10

3. Values to Send: 7 Repeat Count: 1

The Values to Send for 1 and 2 is zero not letter O. If none of these signals work with your drawer you will need to contact the manufacturer of the cash drawer to find out what characters are needed to open your drawer.
