Windows 10 Compatibility

Please note that as Microsoft makes updates and security changes to Windows, these compatibility statements may change depending on the effects of the Windows updates.

Atrex 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21

Atrex 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 were fully compatible with Windows 10 at the time they were developed.

As Windows 10 updates are released, it is possible that the older versions of Atrex in this series may experience compatibility issues with the newer operating system changes.  If you are running Atrex 16, 17, 18, or 19 and experience issues running Atrex after a Windows update, it is strongly suggested that you upgrade to the current version.

It is expected that users processing credit cards with Atrex 16 or newer using the Atrex 14 FDMS or Paymentech plug-ins will experience the same issues with cards being approved but not captured.   As the FDMS and Paymentech plug-ins are not EMV or PCI compliant, it is strongly recommend that customers processing on these platforms move to Worldpay Integrated Payments to take advantage of the EMV capabilities of Atrex 20 as well as the VIP solution being out of scope with regards to PCI compliance.

Atrex 15

Atrex 15 is incompatible with Windows 10, particularly 1806 and newer, and is NOT supported on that platform even when run in compatibility mode.

Errors include an access violation in GDI32.DLL when using any of the code based areas of the report designer, access violations on startup which prevented Atrex from being used at all, the inability to create PDFs from within Atrex (which also prevents printing and sending emails with PDF attachments),  windows randomly reporting that the Atrex program has been damaged, and  the error message "Internal Version Mismatch" being displayed in multiple areas of the program.  While the program continues to run, some internal processing is not being completed which may result in unexpected results, data corruption, or data loss.

It is expected that users processing credit cards with Atrex 15 using the Atrex 14 FDMS or Paymentech plug-ins will experience the same issues with cards being approved but not captured.   As the FDMS and Paymentech plug-ins are not EMV or PCI compliant, it is strongly recommend that customers processing on these platforms upgrade to the current version of Atrex and  move to Worldpay Integrated Payments to take advantage of the EMV capabilities in Atrex 20 as well as the VIP solution being out of scope with regards to PCI compliance.

Atrex 14

Atrex 14 is incompatible with Windows 10 and is NOT supported on that platform even when run in compatibility mode.    While Atrex 14 may install and run on Windows 10, we have received a variety of reports of issues, especially after installing the Windows 10 anniversary edition.   These issues include failure to start, random access violations, an access violation in GDI32.DLL when using any of the code based areas of the report designer, and issues saving PDF files and emailing from within Atrex 14.

In addition, some users are reporting problems processing credit cards using the Atrex 14 FDMS and Paymentech.   After upgrading to Windows 10, process requests are being returned as being approved, but they are not actually captured resulting in the funds not  being deposited into the merchant bank account.

Given the severity of the issues, Millennium Software will not support Atrex 14 running on Windows 10.

Atrex 13 and Older

Older versions of Atrex, 13 and earlier, are incompatible with Windows 10 and are NOT supported on that platform even when run in compatibility mode.
