Exceed the number of licensed users after power outage

A power outage, or improper shutdown of a computer, can result in damage to files used to facilitate record locking within Atrex.  If this occurs, it can result in the message "Starting this copy of Atrex will exceed the number of licensed users".

You can attempt to resolve this issue using the following steps:

  1. Close Atrex on all workstations.
  2. Restart the server computer.  If you are running a client/server configuration and cannot restart the server for any reason, restart the Atrex database server engine via the Atrex Database Server Administrator.
  3. Before opening Atrex on any system, locate the data folder in Windows File Explorer, and delete #data.* and ua_data.*  from that folder.
  4. Again in Windows File Explorer, locate In the central folder, and delete #atrex.* and ua_atrex.* .
