On Hand Items and Serial not equal after import
Problem reported by Netlink Tech - 10/5/2017 at 4:35 AM
Not A Problem
We recently decided setup a new atrex server from scratch after our previous one crashed due to ransomware infection. After importing the stock codes, vendor, serials etc. I noticed that the serial contained per item is not equal to the actual on-hand items. Item1 have 5 onhand but we could see 20 serials whenever we try to ship items. I tried running Batch Processing as well as the "Repair" option but still the same problem. How can this be corrected?

Hi,

On the Batch Processing window's Validation tab, if the "Serialized Items" check box is set, the on hand quantity is set to equal the count of serial numbers.  If this is not happening for you, this is an unexpected result and not something that can be reproduced with other data.

My only suggestion is to ensure that the serialized check box is set on the stock code, delete one of the serial numbers (Inventory - Edit/Query Serial), verify that the on hand quantity is reduced, then validate the serialized items.

Hi,

Thank you for the info. But what we want to achieve is actually the opposite. We want the serial to be equal the count of our on hand quantity. But the way I see it now, our only option would be to manually delete the serial numbers using the Edit/Query Serial.

Yes, you are correct, the on hand is driven by the count of the serial numbers so you must delete those that are not wanted.
