same item from multiple vendors

It's been a while since I used Atrex, and am considering rejoining the family.  Not sure if this has been discussed lately, but my question is still the same.
When ordering the same part from multiple vendors, the inventory database would not allow use of the same UPC for two or more items.
Has there been any progress on this?

You can use the same value in different stock codes by putting one in the Alt Code field and the second in the Alt Code 2.  That said, as you do not have unique values, there is no way to select the stock code associated with a specific vendor as the value is the same for both.

The way to proceed is to use a single stock code and specify different vendor codes as assigned by the vendor, even if they both use the UPC.
