V16 doesn't appear to be a upgrade, just an updated V15, but the purchasing turned from owning it to an overpriced monthly lease, doubling the price. Buyer beware.

I'm sorry you don't feel that Atrex 16 is an upgrade.  
 
While there are a number of new features and enhancements to the user interface, there are a lot of non-visual enhancements behind the scenes to make the package faster and more stable.  And new features are going to be added periodically in the minor releases rather than having to wait for major upgrades every couple of years.
 
Please let us know if you would like to move back to Atrex 15 and I can get you instructions on how to do so.

What happens when the subscription runs out? 10/14/2017, still not happy about what you did.

You will be able to open the program and view the existing data, such as sales reports, but you won't be able to create new transactions or data.
